Historically all brick homes have been perceived as superior to one with vinyl, wood, or similar siding material because of brick's enduring qualities so an all brick home would likely be considered a better investment even if only marginally.

New materials such as very high quality vinyl sidings and HardiePlank type cement boards have made a huge impact on the building market and allow alternative traditional looks without the expense of bricks.
